| Heathridge FC Annual General Meeting
- Tuesday, October 26th 2010
Over the life of the club there has been a dedicated band of (mostly the same) parents that have taken on the organization and implementation of the many tasks necessary to run a club of our size. Unfortunately what has happened over the years is that the club has grown significantly but the number of volunteers has not. This has resulted in a situation where a dozen people are trying to run a club with an excess of 750 players. This is clearly not sustainable.
The committee have come to accept that unless we can get sufficient volunteers for the various aspects of running the club that we will have no choice but to reduce the number of members / teams in each age group to a level that will allow the volunteers that have come forward to manage the club appropriately.
At this time ALL committee positions will dissolve and nominations for new office bearers will be called for. Once the positions have been filled, the new committee will make a decision regarding the club’s size and services offered based on the number of volunteers that have come forward.
Please consider volunteering on the committee. This is the ideal opportunity for you to have input in to a number of improvements and directions that have been highlighted by our members - but we can only action them if we have additional resources i.e. Volunteers! The more volunteers that come forward, the lighter the load for one and all - and the better we can run the club on behalf of you, the members.
Teams & Coaches
Once the committee has been formed and decisions regarding the services the club will offer in 2011 have been made we will need to determine team numbers and therefore available player numbers for registration.
Last season we introduced the rule that we would only form teams where a suitable candidate had nominated themselves as coach of that team. In other words, no coach – no team. This process worked well and made one aspect of running the club – finding coaches for teams – more manageable than in past years. As a result, this will again be the case for the 2011 season.
If you are willing to coach a team in 2011, now is the time to let the club know your intentions! Please send your expressions of interest to, Paul Turvill, at paulturvill@hotmail.com as soon as possible.
In conclusion, there are a lot of changes coming into effect for all Football clubs for the 2011 season necessitating your ( the members ) proactive assistance in trying to make sure we can continue to provide the ideal environment for our football players, both young and not so young to enjoy our sport at every level.
