The WA U-12 Girls Futsal team make history.

The WA U-12 Girls Futsal team made history by being the first WA team to make the semi finals of the National Futsal Championships in Canberra in January. The team started badly losing the first game heavily but the improvement from that point on was amazing. In fact the only other game they ended up losing was the semi final after a tense battle with the eventual champions that could have easily been won by either side.

Monique Godding, Pippa King and Hope Shepherd, all from Heathridge FC, represented WA with pride. Monique was exceptional performing at both ends of the court. Pippa made her own history by scoring with her right foot and Hope’s long range shooting was a feature of the team.

A special mention too must go to Heathridge FC player’s Leah Fitzpatrick and India Joyce, who were in the training squad and were vital in the team’s preparation but never made the trip to Canberra.
